Mark Kent founded Southern Fidelity Mortgage Group in 2006 with business partner Rip Kirby of Tallahassee, Florida, and became sole owner and president of the company in 2017.  Mark began his career in the banking industry and later started an appraisal company business in 1993.

He has also appeared in productions with Independent Musical Productions (IMP), Fantasy Playhouse, and Theatre Huntsville. Jonathan and his wife, Amy, have been married since 2005 and have two children, William and Caroline. Their family spent a year in Strasbourg, France, while Amy earned her master’s degree in Space Studies, an adventure featured on HGTV’s House Hunters International in the episode “From Rocket City to Studying Space in Strasbourg.” The family is active at Summit Crossing Community Church.

Real estate and mortgage lending have long been part of Charlie’s family story. His mother was a Realtor, his wife, DeAnna, is also a mortgage loan originator with Southern Fidelity, and one of his daughters is a Realtor here in North Alabama. That family connection spans three generations. All three of Charlie’s daughters and their families call the Huntsville area home. But the family title Charlie may enjoy most is “G-Daddy” to his eight grandchildren—or, as he calls them, his G-babies.

With more than 20 years originating mortgages, Charlie still believes this business is ultimately about people rather than loans. The mortgage is simply the tool. Helping someone make a good decision about their home and their future is the part that matters.
